Shenanigans… The CRAIC is With Us!
The Irish keep talking about craic (pronounced "crack") – but have a tough time defining it. “Let’s go have some craic” is the cry heard each Saturday evening across the 32 Counties. What is this craic, and why is everybody having it -or looking for it? The term craic, at its simplest, most commonly refers to an atmosphere of comfortable and pervasive conviviality, a complete absence of distrust in pleasant, relaxed and relaxing company. And that is what you will find at Shenanigans!
At Shenanigans, we think that no matter who you are, Irish or not, it is essential to your health and well being to allow some time in your life for craic. Can you have craic in front of your computer, chatting with your friends on Facebook? Most likely not, because although craic is a social thing, it is more of a “face to face” social thing. It is the feeling you get when you are out with your friends, sitting close, sharing your hearts and your thoughts, laughing, joking, teasing...just being together in a place where you feel safe, where you can relax, and be yourselves.
